Wildcard SearchingNov. 12, 2013
The search box at the top of every page now accepts the wildcard characters ? and *. Use ? to match any single character and * to match single or multiple characters 0 or more times. This feature is particularly useful when searching for deals that exist in 144A, Reg S and SEC registered forms. By entering the search term LCM 14* you'll get results that exist in any version of the deal. i.e. LCM 14A (144A), LCM 14X (Reg S), and LCM 14I (SEC). Another example: To find data on all the AJ tranches in 2007 BACM deals, enter the following search term: BACM 2007-? AJ. A screenshot of this particular search is below.
Caveats and Gotchas
For any incomplete ticker search (i.e. missing tranche and/or deal series), a * wildcard will be auto-inserted at the end of the search string. For example, if you search on "WAMU", the actual search query that will run is "WAMU*".
